The Genesee Co-op Natural Foodstore, Inc., doing business as Abundance Cooperative Market, is Rochester's first and only cooperatively-owned natural products retail grocer. Opened to the public in 2001, our store grew out of the Genesee Co-op Foodstore with a history dating back to 1968.
Our Board of Directors, our bylaws and our shareholders are the guiding force that form the backbone of our Co-op.
Go Co-op!  Eight hundred million people world-wide belong to cooperatives. A Co-op exists to serve a group of like minded people working together for a common cause.
Our co-op has over 1300 members, and growing. Membership shares are $100 and come with great benefits. Fill out a Membership Form and bring it or mail it to customer service. Non-members can shop here, too.
Abundance is a member of the National Cooperative Grocer's Association (www.NCGA.coop). Through this partnership, we gain the ability to offer customers great monthly sales on hundreds of products through the "Cooperative Advantage Program" (CAP), Co-op Advantage coupons, and competetive prices through the increased buying power of the 100+ store network using common distributors.
