The management team of the Co-op decided to change the quarterly shareholder Days to a new monthly version, “10% on the 10th”. It is our hope that this change will make it easier and more convenient for shareholders to access this benefit of ownership.

The decision to offer twelve days a year with 10% off, instead of eight days a year with 15% off, was based upon information from other co-ops, and the expectation that shareholders will earn at least as many discount dollars as before without having to stock up for the 3-months before that next event. We also believe that it will help alleviate the problem of forgetting about or not being able to make the weekend events.

We are also looking into the possibility of further allowing shareholders to be able to make a personal choice for a day that works for them without having to attend a Shareholder Day event. This possibility is wrapped into potential software updates to our point-of-sale cash register system.
