bEARTHday 2012: You’re Invited!!!
While the Abundance of Spring grows upon us, the month of April brings more good reasons to celebrate.
April 2rd marked eleven years since Abundance Cooperative Market opened for business, and April 22nd is Earth Day, said to have become be the largest civic event in the world.
We are pleased to combine the spirit of Earth Day 2012 with our 11th year of operation.
All are cordially invited to join us in the store on Saturday, April 14nd beginning at 11 a.m. for some "bEarthday" cake — freshly baked by Deli Manager Jill Hitchcock and her staff — lots of activities, and the company of good people.
In the aisles, there will be free samplings for customers from some of our suppliers, like Better Brittle, Sugarbush Maple Syrup, Qi Infusions, Once Again Nut Butter, and more.
There will be the bouncy house for the kids, (if we can ever manage to get Naz outta there ... and weather permitting we'll be playing ball with the giant "earth ball."
This year we're trying bagged compost from Vermigreen, which is the same stuff we had piled up in the parking lot last year. We've also found a farmer who will deliver truckloads to your house if that's your preference, and of course we'll have info on worms.
We've got free raffles consisting of goodie bags galore, and a special raffle for kids who love to garden. It's a shovel and rake set from Lee Valley Tools made just for the junior sized gardener! This prize includes the book, "Roots, Shoots, Buckets and Boots: Activities to Do in the Garden."
Thanks for all of your support and caring. See you at the party! It's going to be another great year!
