Produce Department Gets Facelift

So figuring out how much something costs in our produce department might make one ponder the adorable eccentricities of the Coop world. Or, it could cause one to throw a carrot into a cart while grumbling, "I'll find out how much it costs when I get up there."

Grumble no more!  We have replaced the old smudgy hand written signs with computer generated ones that are easy to read. They tell you the product code as well as the country of origin, and if it's a local product you'll know that too!
All signs are color coded:

  • Green for Organic
  • White for Conventional
  • Purple for Local.
If it's a local product that is not organic, it will still be purple, but the heading will read "Local Conventional." The farm name and location will be displayed on all local produce signs.

Shelf signs should directly correlate to the product below.  There are 3 tiers of shelf signs and 3 or 4 tiers of product.  So in cases where there are 3 tiers of product, the closest product corresponds to the closest shelf tag, the product that is farthest away corresponds to the uppermost shelf tag.  When there are 4 tiers of product on the shelf, the middle two shelves will be tagged by the middle shelf tier. (See pictures below.)

We hope this will make your buying experience more pleasant and easier.  Let us know what you think!
